Utilities Submetering

Electricity, natural gas, and water are metered by building or service area in order to monitor and better manage natural resources and campus finances.

Electricity Metering

91% of the indoor space on campus and 100% of the parking lots and structures are metered for electricity at the building or service area level.

Of the 70 electricity submeters on both campuses, 47 (67%) are "smart", meters capable of providing near real-time interval data on usage and power quality and transmitting that information to a centralized access point.

The remaining 23 submeters (primarily on parking areas and smaller facilities) are manually read once monthly for usage.
